The latter is a project within of a international collaboration with IMEDEA, a research center jointly governed by the Spanish National Research Council and the University of the Balearic Islands. I developed the code to simulate how some species of microorganisms can change their density depending on the hydrodynamical cues; in particular to model buoyancy changes upon mechanical stresses, we consider a dependence of the density of the particle with the local strain rate of the flow. - M.
