In particular, I expanded and merged together the two lines of research I started during the previous years, i.e. the study of electrons and positrons in cosmic rays and of the high energetic (GeV-TeV) gamma rays. I explored the consequences of the new data on the cosmic electrons and positrons fluxes and anisotropies published during the end of 2017-beginning of 2018 from the DAMPE, CALET, Fermi-LAT and HESS experiments. To this goal, I utilized and I further expanded the model developed during the first two years of my PhD. In particular, in [1] we used the radio data from nearby sources of cosmic rays, such as Supernova Remnants, in order to constrain their contribution to the observed cosmic electrons and positrons. We also quantified, for the first time, the constraints on the properties of nearby Supernova Remnants imposed by the upper limits on the dipole anisotropy of the electron and positron fluxes. In a new project we analyzed the Fermi-LAT data in the direction of two newly discovered (Science, Vol. 358, Issue 6365, pp. 911-914) extended gamma-ray sources. These sources are considered the main candidates to produce the cosmic positron observed at Earth. In [3] we will present the first detection of these sources in Fermi-LAT data, as well as a derivation of their contribution to the positron flux. To this goal I collaborated to the development of a python-based software with Dr. Di Mauro, which we plan to release the the public. As for the gamma-ray science, I finalized the work done during my visit at SLAC in 2017 (USA) with a publication [1]. Moreover, I am working on further applications of the photon count statistics -a statistical technique to extract the composition of the gamma ray sky- to Fermi-LAT data. I presented my work with oral contributions in 3 International Conferences and in 1 invited seminar, as detailed in this Report.
