Made by six layers of Silicon Detectors the outer four have the capacity to measure the specific lost energy (dE/dx) in charge particle. In this way ITS is used as a stand-alone charge particle identification (PID) system. During the first year calibration the Bayesian approach for PID in the ITS have been obtained and implemented on AliRoot (ALICE's Data Analysis Framework). For each charge particles (electrons, pions, kaons and protons) the dE/dx distribution per momentum bin (32 MeV/c) was fitted using a Landau-Gauss convolution function. Most probable value (MPV) and standard deviations plotted in a graph were fitted with ad-hoc function and the result were implemented on AliRoot code as detector response functions. This procedure help to determine the particle distribution for low momentum particles (< 1 GeV) using ITS signals. I have been also involved for 2 months in the tests of the new SuperCARLOSrx board. These boards will be mounted in the ITS readout process at CERN. BE AWARE: research activity and Pubs are not evaluated as didactic credits, but are requested to trace the PhD students' career
